Granby situation (Oct. 2010)
We were contacted by a private party about 6 horses in need due to the owner having some difficulties. We were able to go to the facility and assess the conditions and the animals. A crew of folks helped clean the barn which was filled with feces and reeked of urine. We were able to take two horses in the worst shape to a foster (Yeah Amy); provide hay, grain, Mellisa provided shavings. We took photos and have been networking for the horses. Katie from Scarlet rose Farm agreed to take the pony (Moonshadow). This has been a great group effort. As an aside we have been in contact with the local ACO who has been monitoring the case along with the state, however we were very concerned since winter was coming and many of the horses were in their 20's and there was little to no food evident .Body scores were 1.5-2.5. One horse had a fractured pelvis/hip per owner. Below: Moonshadow, Dara, Froda and Tommy,
